INTERESTED IN A COMPLIMENTARY PORTRAIT SITTING?

Studio Portrait Guide.

If you wish to capture your child in a timeless, formal setting, beautifully-styled, finished akin to a Dutch master or French impressionist watercolor, then a Studio Session is the right option for you.

Studio Sessions differ from Lifestyle Sessions primarily in that they take place indoors, but also in their formality and tone.  Studio sessions place an emphasis on stylized theme, contrast, and shape.  Clients will shoot indoors with the possibility of going outdoors if weather permits (for a guaranteed outdoor session, choose a Lifestyle Session).  In most cases, use of studio wardrobe is included at not cost.

The Process.

BOOKING

We'll begin with a brief in-person meeting to discuss the overall vision and goals
for your project and to preview portrait product options.
We'll discuss details such as time, date, and location and take care of booking details.

Once you're comfortable and ready to move forward, the initial fee is due to hold your dates.

WARDROBE & PREPARATION

Studio Sessions include custom-fitted wardrobe at no cost in most case
(a small usage fee is refunded with a minimum purchase).
We'll discuss theme, style, sizing, and fit for wardrobe at this time.
I'll also provide specific information on how to prepare for the day.

THE SHOOT

We'll meet again the day of your session, typically for 45 - 60 minutes.
We always take cues from your child to determine how long we'll shoot.
Studio Sessions take place in the studio with the possibility of going outdoors as weather permits.

We typically photograph from late morning through mid-afternoon.

VIEWING & SELECTION

About a week following our session, we'll meet again in person.
I'll show you 25-40 soft proofed portraits for selection.
You'll love ALL of your portraits, but don't worry,
I'll guide you in creating a cohesive collection that meets your individual needs.

FULL ARTISTRY

Once a portrait is selected, I hand edit every one, never abdicating this critical step!
This is my favorite part of my work as it is when I bring a portrait to life.

PORTRAIT PRODUCTION

With the purchases of any canvas, you are invited to
view and approve your canvas before putting it into production.

Once in production, several artisans collaborate in creating your finished piece.
It travels from Tennessee, to Florida, to Seattle, and back to me for approval in between, then finally into your hands.

Most items, including finished wall portraits, albums, and silver box sets
take 4-6 weeks for final delivery.

DELIVERY & INSTALLATION

Framed portraits include white glove hand-delivery and installation
in Southeast Michigan with a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee.

If no wall portrait is purchased, collections are available for pick up at no cost.
Shipment is available for an additional fee.
