It's not wrong to make assumptions about what people want and need when we work with them.  These assumptions inform our sense of direction and purpose in our work.  In this case, I was referred by another (fabulous!) client and thought I knew what there was to know about this young woman.  I made assumptions about her life and her story and her reason for wanting to see herself at this moment in her life.  I formed only positive impressions of her and was taken by her natural beauty.  The shoot was among my favorites and, to this day, I treasure these images I created of her.  It was only after the shoot, however, that I fully appreciated and understood the depths of her.

This session is a reminder that it's okay to hold some notions about a person when they present themselves. However, assumptions often mislead and prevent a person's full story from being told.
